A father's necklace inspired by life on the sea, with the baby's first initial.
This necklace was made for Kalle who loves life on the sea. He spends his free time sailing small dingies and big boats - when he is not taking his girlfriend (and dog) out day cruising on the motorboat. Kalle loves to cook, and when they purchased their first house they chose one where they could have the kitchen windows facing the sea.
Kalle has never worn any jewelry before, so when his girlfriend came to me asking for a necklace for his birthday, the challenge was real!
After many iterations, we decided to base the design on something that he would recognize: a teeny tiny schackle. We chose a necklace chain that looked like a rope made of gold - and finally, we surprised Kalle with an engraved "D". D for Dante - his three months old son who made him a father!
Now the necklace hangs around Kalle's neck and to his girlfriend's happinness he never takes it off!
This necklace was created in the Spring of 2023.
