Diamonds rank a 10 (highest) on Moh's Scale of Hardness.
Diamonds are extremely hard and durable gemstones that will withstand daily wear for generations to come.
We use only natural, conflict-free diamonds certified according to the Kimberley Process.
The round brilliant cut is the most popular diamond cut in the world - more than 70 % of all diamonds sold are round brilliant cut. Which is not a surprise, as it is the gemstone cut that best reflects and disperses light.
For a visible white diamond colour, we suggest that you choose at least the colour H (commonly known as Wesselton in Scandinavia). Higher colour grades are D, E, F and G. Here we have used diamond colour G.
Choosing a D, E or F diamond will incur a higher price of the finished ring. Similarly, a diamond colour of H will incur a lower price of this ring. Please give us a call or email online@mumbaistockholm.com to inquire another diamond quality than standard G.
Sapphires
Our olive-green sapphires originate from Kenya and Tanzania.
Sapphires rank a hardness of 9 on Moh's Scale of Hardness. They have excellent durability and will retain their beauty for many years, even with daily wear.
Gemstones of colour have not yet been assigned a worldwide, standardized quality system such as "The four C's of Diamonds" for white diamonds and are therefore judged individually by us at the time of purchase. Then, we take into account the quality of the cut, the intensity of the color, the beauty and the unique properties of the gemstone such as the hardness and durability!
Our coloured gemstones are usually cut in Sri Lanka where we work with a traditional, family-owned cutting facility. They might also be cut in Hong Kong or Sweden, depending on the complexity of the cut and whether the gemstone has been cut from a batch of raw gemstone rocks or if we purchased a one-of-a-kind, pre-cut gemstone.
Stacking
This ring is beautiful worn alone as a single statement piece, but also stacks wonderfully with any straight or curved band in our collection.
